2022 Best Value Associate Degree Colleges for Public Health
Students have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. College Factual has developed its “Best Value Public Health Schools for an Associate” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2019-2020, 38,020 people earned their degree in public health, making the major the 27th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, public health graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,740 and had an average of $35,895 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 746 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Public Health Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 50 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in public health. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great public health programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the public health program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend American Public University System. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value Public Health Schools for an Associate. Located in Charles Town, West Virginia, this large private for-profit school awarded 50 degrees to qualified associates’s public health students in 2019-2020.
American Military University did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Public Health Associate Degree Schools” list. It costs about $10,222 for associate degree public health students per year to attend American Military University.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 98%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.
Out of the 50 schools in the Best Value Public Health Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Borough of Manhattan Community College landed the #2 spot on the list. This large school is located in New York, New York, and it awarded 69 associates’s public health degrees in 2019-2020.
