Out of the majors we analyze each year, health professions was the most popular one in Minnesota. In total, 9,244 people earned their bachelor's degree in the field from a school in Minnesota. This means that of the 269,520 bachelor's that were awarded in the country, 3.4% were from a college or university in the state.
For this year's Best Health Professions Colleges for Non-Traditional Students in Minnesota ranking, we looked at 21 colleges that offer a bachelor's in health professions. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality health professions programs as well as strong support for students classified as non-traditional.

The colleges and universities below are the best for non-traditional students studying health professions.
Capella University tops the 2021 list of our schools in Minnesota that are best for non-traditional health professions students. Located in the large city of Minneapolis, Capella University is a private for-profit college with a fairly large student population.
About 1.1% of Capella University students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. All 38,716 students take classes exclusively online at Capella University. 30,933 students are part time.
Walden University earned the #2 spot in our 2021 rankings. Walden University is a very large private for-profit school located in the large city of Minneapolis.

The College of Saint Scholastica landed the #3 spot in our 2021 best health professions schools for non-traditional students. St Catherine University comes in at #4 in this year's ranking. St. Kate's is a small private not-for-profit school located in the city of Saint Paul. In addition to being on our best for non-traditional students list, St. Kate's has also earned the #4 rank in our Best Colleges for Health Professions in Minnesota ranking.
The student loan default rate at St. Kate’s is lower than is typical, just 1.5% of students default in three years. There are approximately 1,150 students at St. Kate’s that take at least one class online. There are roughly 1,608 part time students in attendance at St. Kate’s.
Our rankings recognize Rasmussen University - Minnesota as the #5 school in this year's rankings. Located in the city of St. Cloud, Rasmussen University - Minnesota is a private for-profit school with a small student population.
The student loan default rate at Rasmussen University - Minnesota is lower than is typical, just 1.6% of students default in three years. 1,722 of Rasmussen University - Minnesota students are exclusively distance learners. 2,039 students are part time.
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities earned the #6 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the large city of Minneapolis, UMN Twin Cities is a public school with a fairly large student population.
