Veterans have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Philosophy” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 10,054 people earned their degree in philosophy, making the major the 83rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, philosophy graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $30,510 and had an average of $21,514 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 2,069 philosophy graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,140 and $23,053 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Philosophy” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in philosophy. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality philosophy programs as well as strong veteran support.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the philosophy program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Philosophy that were part of this year’s ranking, Catholic University of America landed the #1 spot on the list. Catholic University of America is located in Washington, District of Columbia and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 51 ’s philosophy degrees to qualified students.
CUA also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, CUA supports 5,366 students, and 196 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 123 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
