With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Community Organization” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
Community Organization & Advocacy is the 169th most popular major in the country with 3,096 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, community organization and advocacy graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $38,265 and had an average of $26,263 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 891 community organization and advocacy graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,797 and $19,006 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Community Organization” ranking, we looked at 8 colleges that offer a degree in community organization and advocacy. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent community organization and advocacy programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Cornell University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Community Organization list. Ithaca, New York is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s community organization degrees to 5 students in 2020-2021.
Cornell also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 23,620 students enrolled at Cornell University, 2 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Rochester, New York is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s community organization degrees to 11 students in 2020-2021.
Nazareth also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].According to our most recent data, Nazareth College supports 2,791 students, and 67 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 42 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Saratoga Springs, New York is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s community organization degrees to 515 students in 2020-2021.

Borough of Manhattan Community College ranked #6 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Community Organization list. BMCC is a fairly large public school situated in New York, New York. It awarded 143 ’s community organization degrees in 2020-2021.

Metropolitan College of New York is a small private not-for-profit school situated in New York, New York. It awarded 80 ’s community organization degrees in 2020-2021.
