When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Public Admin” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Public Administration is the 60th most popular major in the country with 16,905 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, public administration graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $51,352 and had an average of $29,054 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 818 public administration graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,015 and $31,084 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Public Admin” ranking, we looked at 19 colleges that offer a degree in public administration. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great public administration programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the public administration program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 19 Best Public Administration Colleges for Veterans in the New England Region
Out of the 19 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Public Admin that were part of this year’s ranking, Norwich University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Northfield, Vermont, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 29 degrees to qualified ’s public admin students in 2020-2021.
Norwich also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Among the 3,975 students enrolled at Norwich University, 822 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 569 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,528. To help with additional expenses, 55 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Norwich University does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

University of New Hampshire - Main Campus is a fairly large public school situated in Durham, New Hampshire. It awarded 12 ’s public admin degrees in 2020-2021.
