In 2020-2021, 9,984 people earned their degree in air transportation, making the major the 91st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, air transportation graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,821 and had an average of $21,674 in loans still to pay off.

For this year’s “Best Value Air Transport Schools” ranking, we looked at 50 colleges that offer a degree in air transportation. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great air transportation programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the air transportation program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 50 schools in the Best Value Air Transport Schools that were part of this year’s ranking, Middle Georgia State University landed the #5 spot on the list. Located in Macon, Georgia, this medium-sized public school awarded 88 diplomas to qualified ’s air transport students in 2020-2021.
