It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. College Factual has developed its “Best Value Dance Schools in the New England Region” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
In 2020-2021, 3,288 people earned their degree in dance, making the major the 158th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, dance graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $22,085 and had an average of $24,389 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 172 dance graduates with average earnings and debt of $21,390 and $27,000 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Dance Schools in the New England Region” ranking looked at 10 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in dance. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent dance programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Rhode Island College. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Best Value Dance Schools in the New England Region list. This medium-sized school is located in Providence, Rhode Island, and it awarded 10 ’s dance degrees in 2020-2021.
RIC not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #9 on our “Best Dance Schools in the New England Region” list. It costs about $12,144 for New England Region Dance students per year to attend Rhode Island College.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Massachusetts Amherst. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Best Value Dance Schools in the New England Region list. University of Massachusetts Amherst is a large school located in Amherst, Massachusetts that handed out 16 ’s dance degrees in 2020-2021.
UMass Amherst also took the #2 spot in our “Best Dance Schools in the New England Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend UMass Amherst is $22,038 for New England Region Dance students.

University of Vermont is a fairly large school located in Burlington, Vermont that handed out 6 ’s dance degrees in 2020-2021.

Berklee College of Music landed the #8 spot on the 2023 Best Value Dance Schools in the New England Region ranking. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, this medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 30 diplomas to qualified ’s dance students in 2020-2021.
Berklee College of Music also made our “Best Dance Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #4. The estimated yearly cost for Berklee College of Music is $46,805 for new england region dance students.
The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only 4.4%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%. The undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio of 9 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one.

Bennington College came in at #9 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Dance Schools in the New England Region ranking. Bennington College is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Bennington, Vermont. It awarded 7 ’s dance degrees in 2020-2021.
