Design & Applied Arts is the 36th most popular major in the country with 36,301 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, design and applied arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,426 and had an average of $25,481 in loans still to pay off.
Across Colorado, there were 352 design and applied arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,924 and $31,095 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Design” ranking looked at 4 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in design and applied arts. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great design and applied arts programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Top 4 Best Design & Applied Arts Colleges for Veterans in Colorado
Out of the 4 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Design that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Denver landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Denver is a private not-for-profit institution located in Denver, Colorado. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 31 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
DU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 571 of the 13,856 students enrolled at University of Denver were GI Bill® students, of which 373 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Arapahoe Community College is a fairly large public school situated in Littleton, Colorado. It awarded 59 ’s design degrees in 2020-2021.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. The school came in at #3 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Design. RMCAD is a small private for-profit school situated in Lakewood, Colorado. It awarded 117 ’s design degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our colorado vets studying design list, RMCAD has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 226 of the 1,643 students enrolled at RMCAD were GI Bill® students, of which 176 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $11,994. To help with additional expenses, 28 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
The undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio of 10 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Metropolitan State University of Denver. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Design list. Located in Denver, Colorado, this fairly large public school awarded 56 diplomas to qualified ’s design students in 2020-2021.

The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,619. During this same period, 7 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
