In 2020-2021, 37,413 people earned their degree in fine and studio arts, making the major the 31st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, fine and studio arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $25,051 and had an average of $25,492 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 6,169 fine and studio arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $23,404 and $26,517 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 5,527 fine and studio arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $37,400 and $27,180 respectively.

This year’s “Most Well Attended Fine Arts Major in the Southeast Region for a Bachelor’s” ranking analyzed 261 colleges that offered a degree in fine and studio arts. To top this list, a school must have a successful fine and studio arts program that graduates more students in the field than other colleges that offer the same major.
