With 149,215 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, visual and performing arts is the 10th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, visual and performing arts graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $26,700 and had an average of $25,051 in loans still to pay off.

Across Colorado, there were 2,068 visual and performing arts graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,049 and $27,015 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Visual & Performing Arts” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in visual and performing arts. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent visual and performing arts programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the visual and performing arts program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Boulder, Colorado is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s visual and performing arts degrees to 359 students in 2020-2021.

CU - Boulder did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 1,379 of the 37,437 students enrolled at CU - Boulder were GI Bill® students, of which 968 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. University of Denver is a fairly large school located in Denver, Colorado that handed out 148 ’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.

Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design did quite well in the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for Visual & Performing Arts ranking, coming in at #8. RMCAD is a small school located in Lakewood, Colorado that handed out 129 ’s visual and performing arts degrees in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at RMCAD, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 1,643 students enrolled at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, 226 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 176 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $11,994. On top of their other funding sources, 28 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
