Women's bowling is available at a select number of colleges, and athletic scholarships are attainable for students who keep their grades up and improve their scores. The competition for open spots on a college bowling team may not be as fierce as it is with some other sports, giving students better chances of earning scholarships. However, like any college sport, bowling is still a serious time commitment, and play will be challenging.
The bowling season is in the winter, with championships held in the Spring. Divisions I, II, and III all compete together in the NCAA championships.
