What You’ll Find in Our Veterans Report on NYIT:
When many veterans attend a school, its faculty and staff tend to be more experienced at meeting the needs of former service members. Per VA data, there are 19 GI Bill® students at NYIT. Since the total enrollment at the school is 3,320, nearly 57.2% of those enrolled are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. By comparison, the Student Veterans of America reports that three to four percent of college students nationwide are veterans.
Note, this figure includes all chapters of the GI Bill® program (e.g., Post-9/11, Montgomery GI Bill®, Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment). It leaves out active-duty personnel using Tuition Assistance, meaning the total military presence may be greater.

Prior-learning credit can help you graduate sooner, so it pays to ask. Beyond military training, ask NYIT whether it awards credit for life or work experience, CLEP exams, or other prior learning.
