Colleges with a large veteran population are better equipped to support and accommodate those who have had military experience. According to the VA, there are 55 GI Bill® students at The Academy. Since the total enrollment at the school is 136, about 40.4% of students are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. By comparison, the Student Veterans of America reports that three to four percent of college students nationwide are veterans.
This number includes all chapters of the GI Bill®, such as Post-9/11, the Montgomery GI Bill®, the Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment. It does not include any active-duty military personnel attending via Tuition Assistance, so the total military population is potentially larger.
