Inside This Veterans Report on UWest:
When many veterans attend a school, its faculty and staff tend to be more experienced at meeting the needs of former service members. Based on VA records, there are 5 GI Bill® students at UWest. Because the school enrolls 41, about 12.2% of students are using the GI Bill® to help pay for their education. For context, around three to four percent of American college students are veterans, per the Student Veterans of America.
Note, this figure includes all chapters of the GI Bill® program (e.g., Post-9/11, Montgomery GI Bill®, Reserve Education Assistance Program, and Veteran Readiness and Employment). It does not include any active-duty military personnel attending via Tuition Assistance, so the total military population is potentially larger.
