When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Architecture” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 4,982 people earned their degree in general architecture, making the major the 127th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general architecture graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $49,005 and had an average of $26,624 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 961 general architecture graduates with average earnings and debt of $46,912 and $24,587 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Architecture” ranking analyzed 11 colleges that offered a degree in general architecture. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general architecture programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the general architecture program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Top 11 Best General Architecture Colleges for Veterans in the Southwest Region
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Texas A&M University - College Station. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Architecture list. Located in College Station, Texas, this large public school awarded 157 degrees to qualified ’s architecture students in 2020-2021.
Texas A&M College Station also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 70,418 students enrolled at Texas A&M University - College Station, 5 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. University of Oklahoma Norman Campus is located in Norman, Oklahoma and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 11 ’s architecture degrees to qualified students.
University of Oklahoma did well in our major quality rankings, too.
