2022 Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region

Our “Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
Accounting is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 8th of all the majors we analyze. In 2019-2020, 101,094 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2017-2018, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $44,557 and had an average of $26,381 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 12,724 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $44,268 and $25,156 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,100 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,605 and $16,886 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region” ranking looked at 40 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in accounting. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great accounting programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the accounting program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

This large school is located in Dallas, Texas, and it awarded 54 associates’s accounting degrees in 2019-2020.

Lone Star College System came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region ranking. This large school is located in The Woodlands, Texas, and it awarded 47 associates’s accounting degrees in 2019-2020.

Tarrant County College District did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region ranking, coming in at #9. Tarrant County College is located in Fort Worth, Texas and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 21 associates’s accounting degrees to qualified students.

Grayson College landed the #15 spot on the 2022 Best Value Accounting Schools for an Associate in the Southwest Region ranking.
