2022 Best Value Master’s Degree Colleges for Finance
When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. Our “Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s” ranking is part of that endeavor.
With 52,394 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, finance is the 10th most popular major in the United States.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 4,977 finance graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s” ranking, we looked at 130 colleges that offer a degree in finance. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great finance programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the finance program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Out of the 130 schools in the Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Creighton University landed the #1 spot on the list. Creighton University is located in Omaha, Nebraska and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 6 masters’s finance degrees to qualified students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Scranton. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s list. Scranton, Pennsylvania is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s finance degrees to 19 students in 2019-2020.
Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at University of Scranton are $11,630.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Xavier University. It ranked #4 on our 2022 Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s list. Xavier is a medium-sized school located in Cincinnati, Ohio that handed out 30 masters’s finance degrees in 2019-2020.

West Texas A&M University ranked #6 on this year’s Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s list. Canyon, Texas is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s finance degrees to 68 students in 2019-2020.

Saint Joseph’s University came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s ranking. St. Joe’s is a medium-sized school located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that handed out 35 masters’s finance degrees in 2019-2020.

Colorado State University - Global Campus came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s ranking. Texas Tech University ranked #10 on this year’s Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s list. Lubbock, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s finance degrees to 21 students in 2019-2020.

Texas A&M University - College Station landed the #11 spot on the 2022 Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s ranking. College Station, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s finance degrees to 46 students in 2019-2020.

Webster University ranked #12 on this year’s Best Value Finance Schools for a Master’s list. Webster University is a medium-sized school located in Saint Louis, Missouri that handed out 67 masters’s finance degrees in 2019-2020.
