Our “Best Value Finance Schools” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
In 2020-2021, 51,779 people earned their degree in finance, making the major the 11th most popular in the United States.
This year’s “Best Value Finance Schools” ranking analyzed 613 colleges that offered a degree in finance. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great finance programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the finance program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Out of the 613 schools in the Best Value Finance Schools that were part of this year’s ranking, Brigham Young University - Provo landed the #1 spot on the list. BYU is a private not-for-profit institution located in Provo, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 166 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
