When it comes to choosing a college, students have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
With 55,749 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, general business/commerce is the 9th most popular major in the United States.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 17,132 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate” ranking, we looked at 291 colleges that offer a degree in general business/commerce. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general business/commerce programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the general business/commerce program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend American Public University System. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate. Out of the 291 schools in the Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, San Jacinto Community College landed the #2 spot on the list. This large school is located in Pasadena, Texas, and it awarded 585 associates’s general business degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at San Jacinto College, the school also landed the #6 spot in our “Best General Business/Commerce Associate Degree Schools” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for San Jacinto College is $8,692 for associate degree general business students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Indiana Wesleyan University - National & Global. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate list. This fairly large school is located in Marion, Indiana, and it awarded 224 associates’s general business degrees in 2019-2020.
In addition to being on our associate degree general business students list, IWU has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best General Business/Commerce Associate Degree Schools” ranking. The estimated yearly cost for Indiana Wesleyan University - National & Global is $22,207 for associate degree general business students.
Out of the 291 schools in the Best Value General Business Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Collin County Community College District landed the #4 spot on the list. Located in McKinney, Texas, this large public school handed out 268 diplomas to qualified associates’s general business students in 2019-2020.

IHCC is a public institution located in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The school has a small population, and it awarded 22 associates’s degrees in 2019-2020.
