In 2020-2021, 56,042 people earned their degree in general business/commerce, making the major the 16th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general business/commerce graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $43,399 and had an average of $26,389 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 13,506 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $43,048 and $30,132 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,437 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,328 and $20,384 respectively.
This year’s “Most Well Attended General Business Major in the Southeast Region for an Associate” ranking analyzed 104 colleges that offered a degree in general business/commerce. To top this list, a school must have a successful general business/commerce program that graduates more students in the field than other colleges that offer the same major.
