In 2020-2021, 28,787 people earned their degree in human resource management, making the major the 45th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, human resource management graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $49,057 and had an average of $31,139 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 3,926 human resource management graduates with average earnings and debt of $47,503 and $33,876 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value HR Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking looked at 42 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in human resource management. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent human resource management programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the human resource management program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Oklahoma Christian University. It ranked #4 on our 2024 Best Value HR Schools in the Southwest Region list. This small school is located in Edmond, Oklahoma, and it awarded 17 ’s hr degrees in 2020-2021.

OC also took the #13 spot in our “Best Human Resource Management Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Oklahoma Christian University is $16,177 for Southwest Region HR students.

Out of the 42 schools in the Best Value HR Schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Oklahoma Norman Campus landed the #5 spot on the list. This large school is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and it awarded 465 ’s hr degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Oklahoma also took the #2 spot in our “Best Human Resource Management Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend University of Oklahoma Norman Campus is $21,122 for southwest region hr students.

The low undergrad student loan default rate of 3.3% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. As a testament to the quality of education offered at UH, the school also landed the #7 spot in our “Best Human Resource Management Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. The yearly cost to attend University of Houston is $13,721 for southwest region hr students.
