When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Sales & Marketing” ranking is part of that endeavor.
General Sales & Marketing is the 139th most popular major in the country with 5,923 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general sales and marketing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $44,525 and had an average of $23,038 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 611 general sales and marketing graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,695 and $24,887 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Sales & Marketing” ranking, we looked at 13 colleges that offer a degree in general sales and marketing. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general sales and marketing programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the general sales and marketing program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 13 Best General Sales & Marketing Colleges for Veterans in the Southeast Region
Out of the 13 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Sales & Marketing that were part of this year’s ranking, University of South Carolina - Columbia landed the #1 spot on the list. UofSC is a large public school situated in Columbia, South Carolina. It awarded 176 ’s sales and marketing degrees in 2020-2021.
UofSC did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 1,609 of the 35,470 students enrolled at UofSC were GI Bill® students, of which 651 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,453. In addition to receiving other benefits, 33 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. UofSC does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
With a freshman retention rate of 90%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Georgia State University. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Sales & Marketing. Georgia State University is a large public school situated in Atlanta, Georgia. It awarded 20 ’s sales and marketing degrees in 2020-2021.
Georgia State did well in our major quality rankings, too. Greenville Technical College is a medium-sized public school situated in Greenville, South Carolina. It awarded 60 ’s sales and marketing degrees in 2020-2021.
GTC also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 10,536 students enrolled at Greenville Technical College, 472 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 254 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $3,590. Stetson is a private not-for-profit institution located in DeLand, Florida. The school has a small population, and it awarded 13 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our southeast region vets studying sales & marketing list, Stetson has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 4,462 students enrolled at Stetson, 48 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 34 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $18,001. To help with additional expenses, 17 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.

High Point University did quite well in the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Sales & Marketing ranking, coming in at #6. High Point, North Carolina is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s sales and marketing degrees to 32 students in 2020-2021.
High Point also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Of the 5,617 students enrolled at High Point, 119 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 56 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,813. On top of their other funding sources, 44 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.

Tuskegee University did quite well in the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Sales & Marketing ranking, coming in at #7. Tuskegee is a private not-for-profit institution located in Tuskegee, Alabama. The school has a small population, and it awarded 18 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
