Journalism is the 69th most popular major in the country with 13,552 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, journalism graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $32,953 and had an average of $23,734 in loans still to pay off.

Across Ohio, there were 436 journalism graduates with average earnings and debt of $34,837 and $25,904 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Journalism” ranking looked at 7 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in journalism. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great journalism programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Miami University - Oxford. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Journalism. Oxford, Ohio is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s journalism degrees to 37 students in 2020-2021.

Miami University - Oxford not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.According to our most recent data, Miami University - Oxford supports 18,880 students, and 405 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 259 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. Out of the 7 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Journalism that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Cincinnati - Main Campus landed the #4 spot on the list. Cincinnati, Ohio is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s journalism degrees to 35 students in 2020-2021.

UC not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 40,826 students enrolled at UC, 909 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 498 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $7,806. During this same period, 15 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. UC offers credit for military training for eligible students.

Bowling Green State University - Main Campus came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in Ohio for Journalism ranking. Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, this fairly large public school handed out 14 degrees to qualified ’s journalism students in 2020-2021.
