It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Best Value CIS Schools for an Associate” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.

In 2019-2020, 81,384 computer information systems students received their degree, making the major the 10th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $51,664 and had an average of $26,071 in loans still to pay off.

At the associate degree level specifically, there were 10,036 computer information systems graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value CIS Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 187 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer information systems. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer information systems programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the computer information systems program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Metropolitan Community College. It ranked #1 on our 2022 Best Value CIS Schools for an Associate list. Omaha, Nebraska is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s CIS degrees to 94 students in 2019-2020.

Out of the 187 schools in the Best Value CIS Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Phoenix - Arizona landed the #2 spot on the list. This large school is located in Tempe, Arizona, and it awarded 752 associates’s CIS degrees in 2019-2020.

Out of the 187 schools in the Best Value CIS Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Southeast Community College Area landed the #3 spot on the list. Southeast Community College is located in Lincoln, Nebraska and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 53 associates’s CIS degrees to qualified students.
