The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer information systems programs and a strong support system for non-traditional students.

The University of Texas at Austin has taken the #1 spot in this year's computer information systems ranking for non-traditional students. UT Austin is a very large public school located in the city of Austin. UT Austin did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our Best Colleges for Computer Information Systems in the Southwest Region list.
The school has a low student loan default rate of 0.8%. There are approximately 23,198 students at UT Austin that take at least one class online. 3,479 students are part time.

The University of Texas at Dallas landed the #2 spot in our 2021 best computer information systems schools for non-traditional students. Located in the midsize city of Richardson, UT Dallas is a public college with a fairly large student population. UT Dallas also made our Best Colleges for Computer Information Systems in the Southwest Region list, coming in at #3.
The student loan default rate at UT Dallas is lower than is typical, just 1.4% of students default in three years. Approximately 10,632 students take at least one class online at UT Dallas. 5,977 students are part time.

University of North Texas earned the #4 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the midsize city of Denton, UNT is a public school with a very large student population. As a testament to the quality of education offered at UNT, the school also landed the #8 rank in our Best Colleges for Computer Information Systems in the Southwest Region ranking.

The #5 spot in this year's ranking belongs to University of Houston. Located in the large city of Houston, UH is a public college with a very large student population. UH not only placed well in our non-traditional rankings. It is also #4 on our Best Colleges for Computer Information Systems in the Southwest Region list.
About 0.5% of UH students default on their loans in three years, which is lower than average. Approximately 26,121 students take at least one class online at UH. About 13,663 of the students at UH are attending part time.

Texas Tech University comes in at #6 in this year's ranking. Texas Tech is a very large public school located in the large city of Lubbock.
