Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate

It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate” ranking is part of that endeavor.

In 2019-2020, 10,756 people earned their degree in computer programming, making the major the 121st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $45,886 and had an average of $26,222 in loans still to pay off.

At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,692 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate” ranking looked at 154 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer programming. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer programming programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the computer programming program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. The school came in at #1 for the Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate. Cincinnati, Ohio is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s programming degrees to 33 students in 2019-2020.

Out of the 154 schools in the Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, Bunker Hill Community College landed the #3 spot on the list. This medium-sized school is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and it awarded 27 associates’s programming degrees in 2019-2020.

El Centro College ranked #16 on this year’s Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate list. Dallas, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out associates’s programming degrees to 44 students in 2019-2020.

Brigham Young University - Idaho came in at #17 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate ranking. This large school is located in Rexburg, Idaho, and it awarded 15 associates’s programming degrees in 2019-2020.
