In 2019-2020, computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $67,538 and had an average of $23,620 in loans still to pay off.

Across Colorado, there were 1,401 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $76,837 and $28,491 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 982 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,670 and $29,027 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for CompSci for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 7 colleges that offer a degree in computer science. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality computer science programs as well as strong veteran support.

Boulder, Colorado is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s compsci degrees to 475 students in 2020-2021.

CU - Boulder not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Colorado” list.According to our most recent data, University of Colorado Boulder supports 37,437 students, and 1,379 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 968 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $12,889. During this same period, 46 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Colorado Boulder offers credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Denver. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Colorado for CompSci for a Bachelor’s list. Denver, Colorado is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelors’s compsci degrees to 47 students in 2020-2021.

As a testament to the quality of education offered at DU, the school also landed the #3 spot in our “Best Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Colorado” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 571 of the 13,856 students enrolled at DU were GI Bill® students, of which 373 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,359. In addition to receiving other benefits, 155 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. DU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

Colorado Springs, Colorado is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s compsci degrees to 82 students in 2020-2021.

UCCS did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #4 on our “Best Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Colorado” list.Our most recent data shows that 11 of the 12,380 students enrolled at UCCS were GI Bill® students, of which 8 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,808. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Denver, Colorado is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s compsci degrees to 81 students in 2020-2021.

In addition to being on our colorado bachelor’s degree vets studying compsci list, MSU Denver has also earned the #7 rank in our “Best Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Colorado” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,222 of the 19,086 students enrolled at Metropolitan State University of Denver were GI Bill® students, of which 867 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,619. During this same period, 7 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
