In 2020-2021, 40,555 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 4,146 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,872 and $27,941 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 625 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,810 and $18,681 respectively.

The colleges and universities that top this list are recognized because their information technology program is one of the largest majors offered at the school.
