In 2020-2021, 40,555 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 3,606 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $50,266 and $30,344 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for IT” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the information technology program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for IT that were part of this year’s ranking, Western Governors University landed the #2 spot on the list. Western Governors University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The school has a large population, and it awarded 2,607 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Denver is located in Denver, Colorado and, has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 9 ’s IT degrees to qualified students.

Brigham Young University - Provo came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for IT ranking. Located in Provo, Utah, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 223 degrees to qualified ’s IT students in 2020-2021.

BYU also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Among the 36,461 students enrolled at BYU, 368 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
