In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.

Across Alabama, there were 178 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $46,724 and $22,008 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Alabama for IT” ranking, we looked at 7 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality information technology programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Alabama in Huntsville. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Alabama for IT list. Huntsville, Alabama is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s IT degrees to 27 students in 2020-2021.

UAH also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Our most recent data shows that 645 of the 9,999 students enrolled at UAH were GI Bill® students, of which 294 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $5,721. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. UAH offers credit for military training for eligible students.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Alabama at Birmingham. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Alabama for IT. UAB is a public institution located in Birmingham, Alabama. The school has a large population, and it awarded 24 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

UAB also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 22,563 students enrolled at University of Alabama at Birmingham, 1,194 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 508 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,983. During this same period, 15 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Alabama at Birmingham does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
