Information Technology is the 42nd most popular major in the country with 40,555 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $46,525 and had an average of $26,794 in loans still to pay off.

Across Oklahoma, there were 322 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,110 and $32,126 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Oklahoma for IT” ranking, we looked at 3 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Oklahoma Norman Campus. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Oklahoma for IT list. This large school is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and it awarded 30 ’s IT degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Oklahoma did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 12 of the 27,772 students enrolled at University of Oklahoma were GI Bill® students, of which 10 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $3,720. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Oklahoma offers credit for military training for eligible students.

Out of the 3 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Oklahoma for IT that were part of this year’s ranking, Oklahoma State University - Main Campus landed the #2 spot on the list. Located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, this large public school handed out 7 diplomas to qualified ’s IT students in 2020-2021.

OSU also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,038 of the 24,535 students enrolled at OSU were GI Bill® students, of which 439 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,226. To help with additional expenses, 39 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

University of Tulsa is a private not-for-profit institution located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The school has a small population, and it awarded 11 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Tulsa also made our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list, coming in at #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS].Our most recent data shows that 119 of the 3,960 students enrolled at University of Tulsa were GI Bill® students, of which 62 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
