General Education is the 41st most popular major in the country with 29,810 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general education graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $48,719 and had an average of $23,394 in loans still to pay off.
Across Connecticut, there were 368 general education graduates with average earnings and debt of $47,997 and $25,000 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Connecticut for Education” ranking looked at 8 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in general education. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent general education programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Top 8 Best General Education Colleges for Veterans in Connecticut
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Quinnipiac University. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Connecticut for Education list. Located in Hamden, Connecticut, this medium-sized private not-for-profit school awarded 18 diplomas to qualified ’s education students in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Quinnipiac, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Quinnipiac University supports 9,746 students, and 16 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 4 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $21,337. On top of their other funding sources, 4 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Sacred Heart is a private not-for-profit institution located in Fairfield, Connecticut. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 149 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Sacred Heart did well in our major quality rankings, too. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Central Connecticut State University. The school came in at #4 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Connecticut for Education. New Britain, Connecticut is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s education degrees to 21 students in 2020-2021.
CCSU also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 321 of the 10,652 students enrolled at CCSU were GI Bill® students, of which 166 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,782. To help with additional expenses, 3 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. CCSU does offer credit for military training for eligible students.

University of Saint Joseph came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in Connecticut for Education ranking. West Hartford, Connecticut is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s education degrees to 22 students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our connecticut vets studying education list, USJ has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Among the 2,305 students enrolled at University of Saint Joseph, 31 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. During this same period, 3 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
