Saint Louis, MO

Webster University earned the #1 spot in our 2021 rankings. Located in the large suburb of Saint Louis, Webster is a private not-for-profit college with a medium-sized student population. Webster also took the #2 spot in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Plains States Region rankings.

Our most recent data shows that 958 of the 11,406 students enrolled at Webster were GI Bill® students, of which 818 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $6,137. To help with additional expenses, 16 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

Saint Louis University

Saint Louis, MO

The #2 spot in this year's ranking belongs to Saint Louis University. SLU is a large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Saint Louis. In addition to being on our best for vets list, SLU has also earned the #1 rank in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Plains States Region ranking.

Our most recent data shows that 316 of the 14,438 students enrolled at SLU were GI Bill® students, of which 235 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for these recipients was $14,064. In addition to receiving other benefits, 51 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

University of Missouri - St Louis landed the #3 spot in our 2021 rankings for best value general education schools. Located in the large suburb of Saint Louis, UMSL is a public college with a large student population. UMSL also took the #3 spot in our Best Colleges for General Education in the Plains States Region rankings.

Among the 16,441 students enrolled at UMSL, 335 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 212 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $7,843. In addition to receiving other benefits, 1 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Midland University comes in at #4 in this year's ranking. Located in the distant town of Fremont, Midland U is a private not-for-profit college with a small student population. Midland U also made our Best Colleges for General Education in the Plains States Region list, coming in at #5.

According to our most recent data, Midland U supports 1,873 students, and 40 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 33 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients.
