When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Engineering-Related Fields” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
Engineering-Related Fields is the 112th most popular major in the country with 6,736 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, engineering-related fields graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $77,404 and had an average of $26,200 in loans still to pay off.
Across California, there were 669 engineering-related fields graduates with average earnings and debt of $79,852 and $24,604 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Engineering-Related Fields” ranking, we looked at 8 colleges that offer a degree in engineering-related fields. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering-related fields programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the engineering-related fields program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Out of the 8 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in California for Engineering-Related Fields that were part of this year’s ranking, Stanford University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Stanford, California, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 196 degrees to qualified ’s engineering-related fields students in 2020-2021.
Stanford also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, Stanford University supports 15,953 students, and 188 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 118 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. California State Polytechnic University - Pomona is a public institution located in Pomona, California. The school has a large population, and it awarded 14 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
