In 2020-2021, 4,676 people earned their degree in general engineering technology, making the major the 156th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, general engineering technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $53,419 and had an average of $23,567 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Great Lakes region, there were 568 general engineering technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,657 and $24,611 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for Engineering Tech” ranking, we looked at 18 colleges that offer a degree in general engineering technology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general engineering technology programs as well as strong veteran support.
