In 2020-2021, 6,013 people earned their degree in mechanical engineering technology, making the major the 132nd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, mechanical engineering technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,639 and had an average of $22,526 in loans still to pay off.

At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 2,705 mechanical engineering technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,682 and $26,217 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for ME Tech for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 54 colleges that offer a degree in mechanical engineering technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mechanical engineering technology programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

In addition to being on our bachelor’s degree vets studying me tech list, Cal Poly Pomona has also earned the #25 rank in our “Best Mechanical Engineering Technology Bachelor’s Degree Schools” ranking.According to our most recent data, Cal Poly Pomona supports 30,014 students, and 34 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 17 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,486. On top of their other funding sources, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 87%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year.
