In 2020-2021, 424 people earned their degree in other electrical engineering, making the major the 647th most popular in the United States.
For this year’s “Best Value Other EE Schools” ranking, we looked at 11 colleges that offer a degree in other electrical engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great other electrical engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the other electrical engineering program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Top 11 Best Value Colleges for Other Electrical Engineering
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of California - Los Angeles. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Best Value Other EE Schools list. UCLA is a large school located in Los Angeles, California that handed out 7 ’s other EE degrees in 2020-2021.
UCLA not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #3 on our “Best Other Electrical Engineering Schools” list. The estimated yearly cost for UCLA is $15,023 for Other EE students.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 96%. The low undergrad student loan default rate of 1.6% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. UC Berkeley also made our “Best Other Electrical Engineering Schools” list, coming in at #1. It costs about $16,032 for other ee students per year to attend University of California - Berkeley.
