Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Environmental Engineering” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 2,759 people earned their degree in environmental engineering, making the major the 173rd most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, environmental engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $57,215 and had an average of $24,744 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 539 environmental engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,594 and $24,811 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Environmental Engineering” ranking looked at 17 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in environmental engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great environmental engineering programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 17 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Environmental Engineering that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Florida landed the #1 spot on the list. University of Florida is a large public school situated in Gainesville, Florida. It awarded 103 ’s environmental engineering degrees in 2020-2021.
