In 2020-2021, 9,072 people earned their degree in industrial engineering, making the major the 87th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, industrial engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $68,960 and had an average of $24,268 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 1,927 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $68,118 and $26,481 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 20 industrial engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,077 and $19,490 respectively.
This year’s “Most Well Attended IE Major in the Great Lakes Region for an Associate” ranking analyzed 2 colleges that offered a degree in industrial engineering. To top this list, a school must have a successful industrial engineering program that graduates more students in the field than other colleges that offer the same major.
