At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 49 mining engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,089 and $26,296 respectively.

Out of the 2 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Mining Engineering for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Colorado School of Mines landed the #1 spot on the list. This medium-sized school is located in Golden, Colorado, and it awarded 27 bachelors’s mining engineering degrees in 2020-2021.

Mines also took the #1 spot in our “Best Mining Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” ranking.Of the 6,744 students enrolled at Mines, 234 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 145 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $12,456. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Rocky Mountains Region for Mining Engineering for a Bachelor’s list. Montana Tech is a public institution located in Butte, Montana. The school has a small population, and it awarded 17 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Montana Tech did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Mining Engineering Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region” list.Of the 1,650 students enrolled at Montana Technological University, 117 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 60 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,336. On top of their other funding sources, 11 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.
