Of those degrees, 27,507 went to students in the Southeast region of the country. This year's Highest Paid Engineering Graduates in the Southeast Region ranking analyzed 65 colleges that offered a bachelor's degree in engineering.

In this ranking, we use early career salaries - salaries 10 years from when a student started college. This is the salary typically earned 4-6 years after graduation, but may be different depending on how long a person takes to complete their degree.

How Much Do Engineering Majors Make After Graduation?

The average engineering major who graduates from a school in the Southeast Region earns about $60,255 per year during the early years of their career. This is great news for these degree holders since it is 51% more than the national average of $39,802 for typical college graduates!

Nationwide, the average salary for graduates with a engineering degree is $62,200. So, there's not much difference on that front.
