East Asian Languages is the 188th most popular major in the country with 2,293 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, East Asian languages graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $28,485 and had an average of $22,162 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 355 East Asian languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,570 and $23,431 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Great Lakes Region for East Asian” ranking looked at 11 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in East Asian languages. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality East Asian languages programs as well as strong veteran support.

Ohio State University - Main Campus is a large school located in Columbus, Ohio that handed out 70 ’s East Asian degrees in 2020-2021.

Calvin is a private not-for-profit institution located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The school has a small population, and it awarded 12 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Calvin not only placed well in this ranking. University of Chicago is a fairly large school located in Chicago, Illinois that handed out 16 ’s East Asian degrees in 2020-2021.
UChicago also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, University of Chicago supports 17,834 students, and 241 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 113 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. North Central not only placed well in this ranking.
