In 2020-2021, 2,544 people earned their degree in French language and literature, making the major the 257th most popular in the United States.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for French Language” ranking, we looked at 164 colleges that offer a degree in French language and literature. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great French language and literature programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the French language and literature program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.
