Veterans have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Romance Languages” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 15,009 people earned their degree in romance languages, making the major the 65th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, romance languages graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $31,474 and had an average of $22,151 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 2,289 romance languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,087 and $22,772 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Romance Languages” ranking, we looked at 37 colleges that offer a degree in romance languages. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent romance languages programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the romance languages program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Georgetown University. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Romance Languages. Located in Washington, District of Columbia, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 35 degrees to qualified ’s romance languages students in 2020-2021.

Binghamton University landed the #22 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Romance Languages ranking. Located in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, this small private not-for-profit school awarded 12 diplomas to qualified ’s romance languages students in 2020-2021.
