In 2020-2021, 556,813 liberal arts general studies students received their degree, making the major the 1st most popular in the country. In 2019-2020, liberal arts general studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $28,337 and had an average of $17,430 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 43,359 liberal arts general studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $30,635 and $19,425 respectively.

For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Middle Atlantic Region for Liberal Arts” ranking, we looked at 144 colleges that offer a degree in liberal arts general studies. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent liberal arts general studies programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
