With 556,813 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, liberal arts general studies is the 1st most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, liberal arts general studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $28,337 and had an average of $17,430 in loans still to pay off.
Across Arizona, there were 11,055 liberal arts general studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,492 and $15,907 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Arizona for Liberal Arts” ranking looked at 17 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in liberal arts general studies. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent liberal arts general studies programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

Out of the 17 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Arizona for Liberal Arts that were part of this year’s ranking, Arizona State University - Tempe landed the #1 spot on the list. Arizona State University - Tempe is a large public school situated in Tempe, Arizona. It awarded 106 ’s liberal arts degrees in 2020-2021.
