In 2020-2021, 56,539 people earned their degree in vehicle maintenance and repair, making the major the 76th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, vehicle maintenance and repair graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $34,763 and had an average of $13,320 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southeast region, there were 17,990 vehicle maintenance and repair graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,774 and $13,618 respectively.

This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southeast Region for Vehicle Repair” ranking looked at 40 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in vehicle maintenance and repair. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent vehicle maintenance and repair programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.

To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the vehicle maintenance and repair program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
