For this year’s “Best Value Ethics Schools” ranking, we looked at 4 colleges that offer a degree in ethics. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great ethics programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the ethics program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Top 4 Best Value Colleges for Ethics
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of North Carolina at Charlotte. It ranked #1 on our 2023 Best Value Ethics Schools list. University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a public institution located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The school has a large population, and it awarded 6 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
UNC Charlotte did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #3 on our “Best Ethics Schools” list. The estimated yearly cost for UNC Charlotte is $17,634 for Ethics students.

Fordham U is a private not-for-profit institution located in Bronx, New York. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 8 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Fordham U did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Ethics Schools” list. The estimated yearly cost for Fordham U is $38,147 for Ethics students.
With a freshman retention rate of 89%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The American University also took the #1 spot in our “Best Ethics Schools” ranking. The yearly cost to attend American University is $40,088 for Ethics students.
Students who start out at the school are likely to stick around. The freshman retention rate is 85%. The school has an impressive undergrad student loan default rate. It’s only 1.7%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.

University of Washington - Bothell Campus is a medium-sized public school situated in Bothell, Washington. It awarded 62 ’s ethics degrees in 2020-2021.
