In 2017-2018, general physical sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $25,050 and had an average of $13,137 in loans still to pay off.

At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,820 general physical sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.

Rochester, New York is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out associates’s physical science degrees to 2 students in 2019-2020.

RIT did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best General Physical Sciences Associate Degree Schools” list. It costs about $33,167 for associate degree physical science students per year to attend Rochester Institute of Technology.

The low student loan default rate of 3.3% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. With a freshman retention rate of 86%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students.
