This year’s “Best Value Corrections Schools” ranking analyzed 36 colleges that offered a degree in corrections. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent corrections programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the corrections program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

Mid-State Technical College is located in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and, has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 16 ’s corrections degrees to qualified students.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Sinclair Community College. The school came in at #5 for the Best Value Corrections Schools. Located in Dayton, Ohio, this fairly large public school handed out 17 diplomas to qualified ’s corrections students in 2020-2021.

Minnesota State University - Mankato did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Corrections Schools ranking, coming in at #6. Located in Mankato, Minnesota, this fairly large public school handed out 17 degrees to qualified ’s corrections students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our corrections students list, Minnesota State Mankato has also earned the #1 rank in our “Best Corrections Schools” ranking. The yearly cost to attend Minnesota State University - Mankato is $17,159 for corrections students.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 3.6%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.

Stark State College ranked #7 on this year’s Best Value Corrections Schools list. North Canton, Ohio is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s corrections degrees to 2 students in 2020-2021.
Stark State College also made our “Best Corrections Schools” list, coming in at #23. The estimated yearly cost for Stark State College is $5,963 for corrections students.
Northeast Community College ranked #8 on this year’s Best Value Corrections Schools list. This medium-sized school is located in Norfolk, Nebraska, and it awarded 5 ’s corrections degrees in 2020-2021.
Northeast also made our “Best Corrections Schools” list, coming in at #22. The estimated yearly cost for Northeast is $9,029 for Corrections students.
The low undergrad student loan default rate of 5.0% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
Lansing Community College did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Corrections Schools ranking, coming in at #9. This fairly large school is located in Lansing, Michigan, and it awarded 9 ’s corrections degrees in 2020-2021.
LCC also made our “Best Corrections Schools” list, coming in at #15. The yearly cost to attend LCC is $5,212 for Corrections students.
Cuyahoga Community College District came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Corrections Schools ranking. This fairly large school is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and it awarded 3 ’s corrections degrees in 2020-2021.
Cuyahoga Community College District not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #24 on our “Best Corrections Schools” list. It costs about $4,909 for Corrections students per year to attend Cuyahoga Community College District.
Austin Community College District came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Corrections Schools ranking. Austin Community College District is a large public school situated in Austin, Texas. It awarded 18 ’s corrections degrees in 2020-2021.
Austin Community College District also took the #11 spot in our “Best Corrections Schools” ranking. It costs about $7,224 for Corrections students per year to attend Austin Community College District.
With a ranking of #12, Fresno City College did quite well on the 2023 Best Value Corrections Schools list. Located in Fresno, California, this large public school handed out 9 diplomas to qualified ’s corrections students in 2020-2021.

Southeast Missouri State University did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Corrections Schools ranking, coming in at #15. This medium-sized school is located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and it awarded 53 ’s corrections degrees in 2020-2021.

College of the Sequoias did quite well in the 2023 Best Value Corrections Schools ranking, coming in at #19. This fairly large school is located in Visalia, California, and it awarded 7 ’s corrections degrees in 2020-2021.

San Antonio College came in at #20 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Corrections Schools ranking. San Antonio College is a public institution located in San Antonio, Texas. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 20 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
